SUPPORTING DECISIONS
What Is Supported Decision Making?
We all use support to make decisions and we can all learn to support decisions. Supporting a decision will look different for every person, it might mean helping someone to get information or weigh their options.
Exploring A Decision
Supporting a decision means supporting someone to go through the decision making process.
Mapping A Support Network
A support network is a group of people in the decision maker’s life who might support them to make a decision.
Documenting Support
Support is unique for each person and each decision. Writing down what support looks like for the decision maker is one way of telling other people what the person needs to help them make a decision.
Documenting A Decision
Sometimes we have trouble making our decisions happen or having our decisions respected. Documenting a decision and how that decision was made may help the person have their decision respected.
