Supported Decision Making Workshop

08/04/2019 @ 11:45 AM - 2:00 PM

Free

About the Workshop

We can do better! Let’s support decision making. AFI and ADACAS are working together to make a change for people with disabilities.

Making decisions is a process we often take for granted.  We all have the right to make decisions that affect our own lives. We all use support to make decisions. Support looks different for each of us and for each decision.

Being aware of our rights and responsibilities in decision making is important. This lunchtime workshop will provide you with information about Supported Decision Making.

We will discuss:

  • What is Supported Decision Making?
  • Why is it important?
  • Law about decision making rights
  • Dignity of risk
  • How we can support decision making.
